Before Enrolment: Compare Gower Street’s 3- and 4-Year-Old Timetables

Gower Street Kindergarten

Compare the 2026 Preston kindergarten timetable at Gower Street, including 3- and 4-year-old group days, session hours and enrolment planning.

Our 2026 timetable gives both three-year-old and four-year-old children 15 hours of kindergarten each week across two 7.5-hour sessions. The main difference for families is which group attends on which days, so comparing the available patterns can help with work, care and transport planning.

What Does Our 2026 Preston Kindergarten Timetable Show?

Our published kindergarten programme and timetable lists sessions from 8.30 am to 4.00 pm, providing 7.5 hours each day and 15 hours across two weekly sessions.

The three-year-old programme has four groups:

  • Joey: Monday and Wednesday.
  • Koala: Tuesday and Wednesday.
  • Echidna: Wednesday and Thursday.
  • Wombat: Wednesday and Friday.

Wednesday is listed as a three-year-old-only programme day. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday are shown as integrated-program days.

Our four-year-old programme has two groups:

  • Kookaburra: Monday and Thursday.
  • Possum: Tuesday and Friday.

Both age groups therefore receive the same published weekly hours, but their attendance patterns differ.

How Do the Three- and Four-Year-Old Groups Compare?

For three-year-old families, every available pattern includes Wednesday. The second day determines whether attendance falls at the start, middle or end of the working week.

Koala attends Tuesday and Wednesday, while Echidna attends Wednesday and Thursday, creating consecutive-day options. Joey and Wombat have their sessions separated across the week.

The four-year-old options are both split across non-consecutive days. Kookaburra attends Monday and Thursday, while Possum attends Tuesday and Friday.

There is no universally “best” timetable. The practical choice depends on your family routine, other care arrangements, transport and the group place offered through the enrolment process.

Families wanting more detail about the overall weekly structure can also read our 15-hour kindergarten program in Preston article. This timetable guide is specifically for comparing the published group days.

What Should You Confirm Before Relying on a Group?

The timetable is useful for planning, but a preferred group or combination of days should not be treated as guaranteed until your placement is confirmed.

Before changing work or care arrangements, check:

  • Age eligibility: Children generally need to turn three by 30 April for Three-Year-Old Kindergarten or four by 30 April for Four-Year-Old Kindergarten that year.
  • Three-year-old commencement: If your child turns three during the early part of the kindergarten year, ask us when attendance can begin, as arrangements can depend on staffing requirements.
  • Group availability: Confirm which groups still have places rather than planning around a preferred timetable alone.
  • Future registration: A Three-Year-Old Kindergarten place does not automatically guarantee a Four-Year-Old Kindergarten place the following year.
  • Funding: Children can attend only one funded kindergarten programme at one service at a time.
  • Immunisation: Families should have the required Immunisation History Statement available during enrolment.

For current eligibility and registration information, review Darebin’s kindergarten facts before making enrolment decisions.
